Stylin' babies

It was probably 2 years ago when this pattern came in to my life. I tried twice and gave up. 
In my defense, I had just learned to crochet, so the pattern was practically in hieroglyphics.  

So, recently, I gave it a whirl on the ol' 4mm and was surprised to find that, had I been a wee bit more skilled, I could have been crushing this pattern for moons now!
