The Link to the Pattern for this Happy Little Holiday Tree is belowI don't know about you, but when the holiday season starts.. All I want to do is watch this 0:07 long vine over and over. Why does it make me laugh? *shrugs*
As someone who isn't a huge Christmas fan, this project is a first for me. I had seen a similar idea on Instagram but, for the life of me, couldn't find the reference again to try and hunt down the pattern so.. I just kind of made it up myself. It was one of those nights where you just don't have the motivation to work on any of other other 1298529083 projects you have going on so.. why not start another? I started at about 11pm and didn't stop until about 2am because once I started and the vision was coming to life I just couldn't put it down. My favorite part about this Happy lil Treeboi is easily the Perler lights. I HATE using small needles and didn't want to have to crochet a small string of lights, changing colors and leaving countless ends to weave. So DMC floss and Perler beads made a very welcome alternative. The felted details are, in my opinion, the best features of this tree. There is something so satisfying about felted details over the bunchy, wonky crochet details. It takes a lot of time and effort to crochet such small pieces and I much prefer stitching a solid piece on rather than hopelessly stitching a crochet piece on and hoping it turns out straight. So far, it's easily my most popular pattern. It's really exciting for me because I've only just begun my free-hand work and designing my own patterns and it's one of those little victories that lets you know you're on the right path. If you would like to make this pattern yourself, head over to my Etsy and grab yourself a pattern. I take great pride in the level of detail I use in my work and did my best to give clear and precise instruction so even a beginner-level crocheter can make one!
