Festival season is right around the corner and I feel like I've been a weaving fool. Between NWAT and Gnarlea, we have come up with some seriously badass designs.
The pink little gem was something we've wanted to experiment with for some time now. Watching my mom work her magic in that dye pot was the coolest! We thought it would be the perfect color for a Mother's Day shawl, and it turned out to be just that.
The Fringe, as I like to call it, was something I made ages ago but I didn't anticipate how difficult it would be to weave in the ends of an already thin shawl. I must have tried 3 different yarns and countless different stitches for a border to cover the ends but it just wouldn't look right. I think this was mean to be fringed all along. Probably the most difficult shawl I've had to part with.
A lot of things I make are simply things I like, and would enjoy shopping for. With that, sometimes it is so hard to part with them. I go back and forth, reasoning with myself that it's perfectly acceptable for me to have 40 hats and 25 different shawls. One for every outfit, right?
